Governments throughout history have regularly operated on the opposite principle, currently many state and local governments are proving this very thing
While the pandemic has cost hundreds of thousands of lives we believe that it is up to the individual, and not the government to decide what is best for themselves and their families.
We have elected people to represent us, not to destroy our lives and our livelihoods with draconian mandates. We have lives, we work, we vote, we pay our own bills We make decisions for ourselves daily.
Government shutdowns have caused the closure of hundreds of businesses that employed thousands of people throughout the different industries. Millions have lost their jobs. We have spoken with business owners and workers who have lost their jobs due to the shutdowns and they don’t want to become dependent on the state for their sustenance. There is a certain pride that one takes from being able to provide for oneself and that pride is present in the American people
While the disease is very real, the effect that the closures has had in the economy and in the lives of people are also very real
Churches have been shuttered, businesses shattered and Democrats and Republicans caused this!
The Libertarian Party of Colorado has been at the forefront of doing what we can to protect the rights to assemble, the property rights of people and the right of each American to earn their own living. Americans don’t want government handouts. We want to be able to work and conduct business.
