WHEREAS Article XI Section 4 (i) of the Libertarian Party of Colorado (LPCO) Bylaws state “The Party, its affiliates, and its elected Directors in their official capacities, either individually or as a group, shall endorse only Libertarian Party nominees for election to partisan public office.”; and
WHEREAS members of the 2023-2025 LPCO State Board violated the LPCO Bylaws by promoting the Liberty Pledge with the Colorado Republican Party and its candidates; and
WHEREAS members of the 2023-2025 LPCO State Board encouraged 2024 Libertarian candidates to not run and/or to drop out of certain races where the Republican candidate had signed the Liberty Pledge; and
WHEREAS members of the 2023-2025 LPCO State Board showed support for 2024 Republican candidates in races where the Republican candidate had signed the Liberty Pledge and there was no Libertarian candidate; and
WHEREAS members of the 2023-2025 LPCO State Board advertised the Liberty Pledge to 2026 candidates prior to the election of the new LPCO state board at the 2025 LPCO State Convention.
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the LPCO State Board agrees to adhere to the LPCO Bylaws by promoting only Libertarian Party nominees for election to partisan public office.
BE IT HEREBY FURTHER RESOLVED that the LPCO State Board repudiate any former agreement with the Republican Party and declare it null and void.
BE IT HEREBY FURTHER RESOLVED that the LPCO will not honor any Liberty Pledge that has been signed by a candidate from another political party running in the 2026 election or any future election.
BE IT HEREBY FURTHER RESOLVED that the LPCO State Board will not discourage Libertarian candidates from running in certain races.
BE IT HEREBY FURTHER RESOLVED that the LPCO State Board will not ask, encourage, or pressure a nominated Libertarian candidate to drop out of a race.
