GOVERNMENT INTERFERENCE IN BUSINESS
Westminster, CO: Business is the voluntary exchange of goods and/or services between two or more individuals. Yet, government is heavily involved in every business transaction at every level. Brian Rogers, president and CEO of Kayak Cannabis, asks whether business and government need to intersect. What are the positives of government regulation and what are the negatives? How does government regulation impact the labor market? What is the impact of government subsidies for business? At the 2017 Libertarian Party of Colorado State Convention, Rogers will examine these questions and discuss what roles, if any, the government should play in the business sector.
Rogers is the president and CEO of Kayak Cannabis, a concentrates manufacturing company, as well as Backcountry Cannabis Company, a retail cannabis store in Crested Butte, CO. Rogers and his wife, Caitlin McGuire, owned a medical marijuana store in Breckenridge, CO that was the center of an eight-part CNN docuseries titled “High Profits” that focused on the battle with government officials over their store’s location.
