Join us at Landry’s every Wednesday for Arapahappy Hour, sponsored by the Libertarian Party of Arapahoe County (LPAC).

Our goal is to build Libertarian affiliates, share information and encourage principled action that begins with having a good time together. Socialize with other Libertarians and like-minded folks at this hump-day oasis.

::: Last week’s Arapahappy Hour enjoyed spirited conversations about many topics.

-We exchanged opinions on PIPA and SOPA (Protect IP Act and Stop Online Piracy Act) and how these pieces of legislation will change the landscape of the Internet, online businesses, our own privacy, and the world.

-There were thoughts expressed about Bob Barr’s endorsement of Republican Newt Gingrich.

-Some folks talked about TARP (Troubled Asset Relief Program – or Toxic Asset Relief Program) and how the banking industry needed to be accountable for their careless policies.

-There were many enthusiastic conversations about Gary Johnson. Gary Johnson was on KHOW (630am) last week for an entire hour. Johnson said he believes ‘most Americans are Libertarians.’ Everyone at Arapahappy Hour agreed. Some even said Libertarians are the moderates of the United States.

-Of course, there were plenty of mentions about RON PAUL.

Landry’s ambiance is breezy but genteel — Gulf Coast, circa 1940. Jazz plays softly. Ceiling fans spin overhead. It’s the kind of place Hepburn and Tracy would have hung out, maybe split a dozen oysters and a drink before dinner and lingered after a dessert of bananas foster on the patio or dock outside.

The exceptional, fresh seafood gets star billing, any way customers want it — red snapper, flounder, redfish, rainbow trout, salmon, tuna and mahi-mahi — all with or without specialty toppings incorporating jumbo lump crab, shrimp, scallops and crawfish. Bountiful seafood platters including Gulf shrimp, oysters and shellfish prepared myriad ways. Seafood-spiked gumbos, salads and pastas, plus beef and fowl to appeal to every palate.
