The actual polls will be open from 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m for the primary election on Tuesday, August 10th. This is the same day the Democrats and Republicans go to the polls. Mail-in ballots, however, will start to go out July 19, 2010. The Secretary of State has a complete calendar of events and deadlines on its website.
I want Libertarian participation to surpass that of all other parties. Help us achieve that goal.
VOTE IN THE PRIMARY ON OR BEFORE AUGUST 10TH, 2010.
At a time when the two major parties are losing registered members, the Libertarian Party of Colorado is growing. By participating in the primary, we will demonstrate once again that the Libertarian Party, unlike members of the two status quo parties, is comprised of concerned members that care about smaller government and individual freedom. The only wasted vote is a vote for more of the same.
"Always vote for principle, though you may vote alone, and you may cherish the sweetest reflection that your vote is never lost."
--John Quincy Adams

"Jaimes will address the
full range of challenges facing our state and the Libertarian solutions to them. He will do all
of this in a manner that brings credibility to our party and all of the other Libertarian
candidates on the November ballot."
-Curtis Harris; Candidate for US Congress, District 2
"Jaimes Brown has shown himself to be not only a tireless defender of liberty, but a dedicated and consistent proponent of the LPCO. Jaimes has worked countless outreach events, as well as much work 'behind the scenes' to help grow the LPCO, and has provided immeasurable benefit to the overall strength and wellbeing of the LPCO. Many current members can trace their initial introduction to Libertarian politics to Jaimes."
-Joseph Johnson; Elected Libertarian

-Rob McNealy; Candidate for US Congress, Dist. 6
"I have served with Jaimes the past several years on the board of the Libertarian Party of Araphahoe county and have appreciated all he has contributed in the way of leadership, outreach, direction and financial assistance. Jaimes will be a solid representative for the state Libertarian Party and will present the full spectrum of libertarian ideas in an enthusiastic, understandable and professional manner."
-Jim Frye; LPAC Treasurer, CUT Board Member
"Jaimes Brown has shown exceptional and principled leadership both internally with taking up the reigns of the Arapahoe Affiliate, state Publications, but also externally by sitting with executives several times a month to discuss policy and local issues in a way that introduces Libertarianism to business, principled solutions to key decision makers in our community. I would be proud and honored to have my name next to his on the general ballot in November."
-Ken Wyble, Candidate for Lt. Governor
Vote for Clint Jones for CD 1.
There will be a Libertarian primary election for Congressional District 1
(the position that Diana DeGette now holds).
We support this long-term, hard working Libertarian in the primary
election August 10 and the general election November 2 because he has:
Supported the Libertarian Party since 1991
Served on the Colorado Libertarian Party Board of Directors since 2006.
Made over 2000 phone calls to Colorado Libertarians in the last 3 years.
Raised $9000 for mobile billboards driven around the 2008 Democratic National Convention. (Email Clint to receive a jpeg of the 2 billboards.)
Contributes as a 1776 Platinum Club and is a Life member of the Libertarian Party of Colorado.
Again, vote for Clint Jones for CD 1.

I attended the Denver Libertarian Open House on May 20th and spoke with an Examiner.com reporter concerning Libertarian policies on a number of issues. If you are interested in organizing a Libertarian Open House in your county or region, click here to email me and Rob McNealy.
I provided the Affiliate Handbook to several people. Jonathan Stanley plans to load it onto the website to make it accessible to everyone.
At the May 10th Affiliate Representative Committee meeting, Outreach Director Ryan Gaunt gave a presentation describing his outreach goals in reference to building affiliates. McNealy and I talked about the Libertarian Open Houses and their potential for discovering Libertarian activists.
I recommend that we organize an LPCO strategy session.
Mike Spalding is offering a promotion to encourage new donations to The Libertarian Party of Colorado in July.
Anyone who makes a donation of $10.00 or more receives a one oz. copper coin
and anyone who makes a new donation of $100.00 or more receives a $50 one oz. silver coin.
I have volunteered to be on the team of 2 for fundraising for the State Party. The other member is Shannon Murphy. We are both 1776 Club members, so we both can tell prospective contributors that we walk the talk. We had a 3 hour training with Kenton Johnson and plan to put what we have learned into action. If you know of someone who would like to contribute to the Libertarian Party of Colorado and would like that contribution to be given to a live human being, email me their name, phone number, address, and email and we will make an appointment.
This fundraising will enable the Libertarian Party of Colorado to do much more outreach, to find more Activists and Contributors, purchase outreach materials that are "timeless", to increase the number of registered Libertarians, strengthen our infrastructure with robo phone software and copier/scanner/printer, and possibly strive for an Executive Director position that would move the Party ahead even further. Although Colorado is not a heavily populated state, the Libertarian Party of Colorado is in the top ten states with Libertarian contributors to the National Libertarian Party. So we want to build on this success. Email those contacts to me.
I attended and made contacts at the Libertarian National Convention that shared their successes and listened to LPCO's. I have sent the Libertarian Party of Nebraska information on ordering Libetarian caps like LPCO's. (We only have 30 left. Get yours now!) I sold 40 license plate frames to the Virginia Peninsula Libertarian Party. (We have plenty of these left. Get yours now!)
OPPORTUNITY to help liberty: Volunteer Coordinator for the Libertarian Party of Colorado.
This person will use their people skills to find, motivate, and guide the various volunteers
that contact the LPCO, matching the volunteer interests to the needs of the organization.
This is a volunteer position for a political party that has a Board of Directors
that is committed, interesting, and active in the community.
A one year commitment with an average of 4-6 hours per week is needed.
Please contact membershipdirector@lpcolorado.org with interest and questions

We have increased our Membership to over 12,000 members. Still, there are only Thirty Four 1776 Club Members.
With YOUR support, Libertarians have ballot access, basic support for local Libertarian Candidates, rent, utilities, outreach/education for Colorado Voters.
Any amount helps. If we can do this much for free, what could we do with a positive budget? Please donate.
Delta County is a very rural county, and like many rural counties, is pretty libertarian leaning. Gary Johnson is a Libertarian candidate for county commissioner in Delta County this year. There is no Democrat in this race, and the 2 Republicans headed for primary are not well received: one is too liberal for the conservative Republicans of Delta County, and the other is—of all weird things—the husband of the current commissioner who is term limited out. A vote for the Libertarian is a vote for the Libertarian in this race, not a "spoiler" vote. Gary Johnson has already been enthusiastically received by several Tea Party groups. He has an excellent chance of actually winning this race, rather than just a "good showing". Gary very much needs your support. There are no donation limits for county commissioner candidates. You can help Gary by sending a check to:
Johnson 4 commissioner
PO Box 365
Delta, CO 81416
(don't forget to include your name occupation and employer).
You can look at Gary's website at www.johnson4commissioner.com.
Please help us spread this message, as the local media isn't exactly co-operative. We have some great signs lined up and places to put them, and we need "freedom alert" radio ads, and direct mail campaign postcards. Any amount you can spare would help us elect Gary Johnson as county commissioner in Delta County, CO.
Steve Saint is a county commissioner candidate in Mesa County, next door to the north of Delta County (many of you may be familiar with Mesa County's seat, Grand Junction). The current county commissioners of Mesa County are taking Steve seriously, and have even met with him in person. Steve is a sheriffs deputy in Mesa County.
Contact Steve at tymber9321@yahoo.com to support him.
Both of these candidates have an excellent chance of actually winning their races, but are up against what all Libertarian candidates are up against...the media is ignoring them. They need signs, radio ads, and postcards for direct mail campaigning.
Contact me at wsoutreachdirector@lpcolorado.org to find out how to get yard signs and/or stickers for amendments 60 and 61, and proposition 101. These ballot measures are critically important to Colorado. How about a flat $10 car registration fee, and no telephone taxes except for 911? How about no special district boards that you don't get to vote for no longer being able to tax you? Please help and show your support. Visit www.cotaxreforms.com for more info and to volunteer to help.
